WINCHESTER, NH -- The Granite State Pro Stock
Series will make their second appearance at Monadnock Speedway in
Winchester, NH on Saturday, August 4 for the JBH 100. The race will
be in memory of late series president John Hoyt, who unexpectedly
passed away last year. Hoyt and Mike Parks founded the series in
2011.
“John (Hoyt) was a driving force in this series to help get it off
the ground," Granite State Pro Stock Series president Mike Parks
said. "We decided to do a memorial race as our little tribute for
him.”
Bobby Cabral leads the Granite State Pro Stock Series into Monadnock
Speedway fresh off his Gate City Classic 100 win at Hudson Speedway.
Cabral, of East Kingston, NH, also rebounded from a late race spin
and claimed the third position at the season opener at Monadnock.
Fifteen-year-old Derek Griffith scored an impressive runner-up
finish at Monadnock Speedway in May. Griffith, of Hudson, NH, sits
third in the Granite State Pro Stock Series point standings and will
be among the competitors expected to vie for the race win. Second
place point man Mike Parks, of Walpole, NH, will be there and will
look to close the gap to Cabral and pick up his first series win.
Carl Eriksson, of Deep River, CT, and Rich Eaton, of Seabrook, NH,
will also look to close the gap to Cabral and claim their first
series wins.
Multi-time Monadnock Speedway champion Barry Gray, of Belchertown,
MA, will look to climb the point standings with a win in the JBH
100. Bobby Baillargeon, of Kingston, NH, rides a third place finish
at Hudson Speedway into Monadnock Speedway. Former Monadnock
Speedway competitor Fran “Jr” Colson, of Gardner, MA, will be in
contention for his first series win.
